This notice applies only to the website mentioned above (hereinafter the “Website” or “this Website”) and any related subdomains, and not to other websites that users may visit via specific links.

Types of data processed and purposes of processing

1. Browsing data

The computer systems and software procedures used to operate this Website acquire, during normal operation, certain personal data the transmission of which is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols. This information is not collected to be associated with identified data subjects, but by its very nature could, through processing and association with data held by third parties, make it possible to identify users/visitors (e.g., IP address, domain names of the computers used by users connecting to the site, the code indicating the status of the server’s response, type of browser, etc.). These data are used solely for statistical information (and are therefore anonymous) and to check that the Website is functioning correctly. Web contact data are not retained for more than six months, except in the event of investigations into computer crimes against the site. No data deriving from the web service will be communicated or disseminated.

2. Cookies

2.1 General information about cookies
Cookies are small text files that websites visited by users send to their terminals (usually to the browser), where they are stored to be retransmitted to the same sites on the next visit via the same terminal. In addition, each site may allow the transmission of so-called “third-party” cookies, i.e., those generated by websites other than the one the user is visiting (through objects contained therein such as banners, images, maps, sounds, specific links to web pages of other domains).

Based on their duration, cookies are divided into session cookies (i.e., temporary cookies that are automatically deleted from the terminal at the end of the browsing session, when the browser is closed) and persistent cookies (i.e., those that remain stored on the terminal until their expiry or deletion by the user). Cookies serve various purposes. They are primarily used to transmit communications or to provide the service requested by the user; more specifically, they enable and optimize website functionality, perform IT authentication and prevent abuse, monitor sessions, and improve users’ browsing experience—for example, keeping the connection active to reserved areas while navigating the site’s pages without needing to re-enter User ID and password, and storing specific information about the users themselves (including preferences, type of browser and computer used).

These cookies are called “technical” cookies (user consent is not required for their use), since without them some of the aforementioned operations could not be performed or would be more complex and/or less secure.
Conversely, if cookies are used for additional purposes—typically to analyze behavior and send personalized promotional/advertising messages (so-called “profiling” cookies) or even just to obtain, through services provided by third parties, aggregated information on the number of users and how they visit the site (so-called “analytics cookies”)—user consent is required. In fact, before these cookies are sent to the terminal, under applicable legislation (Privacy Code and the Italian Data Protection Authority’s general measure of 8 May 2014), when accessing the home page or another page of the site, a banner immediately appears in the foreground with brief initial information about the use of cookies and the collection of consent, which the user may give by continuing to browse by selecting an element beneath the banner or by closing the banner itself.

In any case, cookies can be read or modified only by the website that generated them; they cannot be used to retrieve any data from the user’s terminal and cannot transmit computer viruses. Some cookie functions can also be performed by other technologies; therefore, within this web privacy policy, the term “cookies” refers to cookies and all similar technologies.

2.2 Analytics cookies
This website also includes components transmitted by Google Analytics, a web traffic analysis service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Such cookies are used solely to monitor and improve the site’s performance. For more information, please refer to the following link: www.google.it/policies/privacy/partners/

Users may selectively disable the action of Google Analytics by installing the opt-out browser add-on provided by Google. To disable the action of Google Analytics, please refer to the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

2.3 Managing cookies
Users can decide whether to accept cookies by adjusting their browser settings.

Warning: disabling technical cookies in whole or in part may compromise the optimal use of the site.

Disabling “third-party” cookies does not affect navigability in any way. Settings can be defined specifically for different websites and web applications. Moreover, browsers allow different settings for “first-party” and “third-party” cookies. For example, in Firefox, through the Tools → Options → Privacy menu, you can access a control panel where you can define whether to accept the different types of cookies and proceed to their removal. Documentation on how to set cookie management rules for your browser is readily available online.
